Summer Sunflowers

My sweet family took a quick adventure this summer to a local sunflower patch and it was dreamy. I'm thinking back on nights like that one and many others that made this the most perfect summer. We spent lots of time with my mother this summer. Sealing precious memories for mine and my daughter's hearts to treaure and hold dear. I'm reminiscing today because today marks the start of the school year for me. I'm not only a photographer. I'm also an elementary art teacher. I love teaching art and getting to know my students over the course of many years. One of the perks to teaching elementary art is that I basically get to watch kids grow up and have a hand in helping to cultivate a love and appreciation for learning, creativity, and beauty. Bittersweet would be the only way I could describe today. Dropping my own kiddo off at daycare so I could get my classroom ready and start the prep for another school year with all my school kids. Happy and sad all at the same time.... 

This summer was perfect though. We had many adventures and made happy memories.
